Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
We start early from Marrakech, climbing through the winding High Atlas pass of Tizi n'Tichka. We stop to tour the ancient fortified clay city of Ait Ben Haddou, a filming site for iconic films like Gladiator. Next, we pass through Ouarzazate (Morocco's Hollywood) and travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to reach the dramatic Dades Gorge for dinner and our hotel stay.
Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, we take a short drive to the Todra Gorges, where vertical canyon walls reach 300 meters high. Take a leisurely walk along the riverbed before we head south toward Erfoud, the capital of fossils. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga. You'll ride camels into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, witness a magical Sahara sunset, and stay in a cozy Berber camp.
Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, we travel north through the lush Ziz Valley palm groves and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop at Midelt for lunch and later visit the cedar forests of Azrou to see wild Barbary macaques. We pass through Ifrane (often called the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving in Fes in the evening.
